You Are Not Late!

Ecclesiastes 3:1 says, “There is a time for everything and a season for every activity under the heavens.” So, this means where you are right now in your financial or business journey is exactly where you are supposed to be. You are not late, and you are not out of time. There is still time for you to make your next power move.

Pause, take a moment to think about that, and let these words cause a ceasefire to the voices of doubt, fear, and anxiety that are telling you that it is too late or that you do not qualify to receive what you know in your heart God has for you.

I have often found myself in a similar place, thinking I should be further ahead in my journey, beating myself up over past mistakes, and worried about the future. But the truth I learned, is that I wasn’t ready before I was ready. Did you catch that? I was not ready, prepared or willingly available to do what needed to be done to receive and steward well where I thought I should be or what I thought I should have.

Maybe you’re not beating yourself up over past mistakes, but you are frustrated because you didn’t get the promotion or contract-ceasefire! Timing is everything. There is a perfect time and season for your next. My question is, are you ready? Do you have systems in place to handle more business? Have you gotten a handle on how you manage money and a strategy for how to steward it well?

Luke 12:35-36, says, “Stay dressed for action and keep your lamps burning and be like men who are waiting for their master to come home from the wedding feast, so that they may open the door to him at once when he comes and knocks.” There may be a myriad of reasons why you are where you are, and God does not intend to waste any of what you have experienced up to this point. Because of His great grace and infinite wisdom, He is giving you time to discover what you need to know or do to prepare for your next. You are not where you want to be right now because God knows that you will not be able to handle what you are expecting without some preparation.

He wants you to be prepared and equipped for greater. Luke 5:37-39 says, “ And no one puts new wine into old wineskins, or else the new wine will burst the wineskins and be spilled, and the wineskins will be ruined. But new wine must be put into new wineskins, and both are preserved…” In other words, if God allowed you to have what you want without being prepared for it-it would destroy you!

I know where you are, and I understand how you feel. When I found myself in similar circumstances, the Holy Spirit showed me the necessity of setting my mind on things above to know how to be effective in my everyday life. Below are steps you can take to partner with God as you get ready for elevation and increase.

1. Spend time in God’s presence through prayer and worship (fast if you feel led).

2. Consider if there are areas in your life (mindset and actions) that need to be conformed to the image of Christ.

3. Consider if you have surrendered what you want to God and are open to what He wants for you.

4. Lament (Pour out your grievances and frustrations).

5. Repent and ask for forgiveness.

6. Acknowledge who God is and what He can do.

7. Praise and thank God in advance for answering your prayer request(s).

8. Ask for wisdom and a strategy about what you must do based on your answers to questions 2 and 3 above.

9. Find and read scripture that applies to your situation.

10. Be quick to obey the Lord's instructions! Take action as the Holy Spirit leads and guides you.

Prayer, fasting, and worship bring about revelation; revelation leads to spirit-led action and spirit-led action leads to transformation. There are aspects of your life that God wants to transform and renew so that you can steward well what He has purposed and prepared for you.

So, whether you are a busy husband or wife, single parent, college student, or CEO and you are feeling like you have missed the mark, be encouraged. God has you right where you need to be, which is right on time.

Blessings,

Salathia, The Faith and Finance Coach
